Before traveling to Las Vegas, Utah participated in a traditional home tournament in Salt Lake City. They lost all three games a year ago, but now they managed to pick up one win. In the final game of the tournament, Utah beat Memphis (98:83), and before that, they failed to cope with Oklahoma (85:95) and Philadelphia (94:104).
The first game in Vegas Jazz succeeded - a 105:99 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. They had a great offensive meeting, and the best effort was made by Keyonte George, who scored 33 points. Ochai Agbaji scored 21 points, and Mickey Porter had 18 points.
Minnesota Timberwolves
The Timberwolves roster for the Summer League is almost entirely made up of rookies. Nevertheless, that didn't stop the Timberwolves from getting a solid win over New Orleans. It was 102:88, thanks to a 30:13 run in the final quarter. Separately, we should mention ex-Portland player Brandon Williams, who scored 24 points in Minnesota. Josh Mynott scored 20. Leonard Miller had 16 points; Wendell Moore had 15.

Utah had won its previous two games, but even in winning games, it wasn't known for its reliable defense. The Jazzmen have allowed 94 or more points in three of their four Summer League games. The odds of the success of the Timberwolves are higher than they seem to be. The Wolves looked great in the game against New Orleans, and why shouldn't they do the same in the game against Utah?
