Utah Jazz vs Minnesota Timberwolves Prediction: The Jazz weaves beautiful offense but struggles defensively

The NBA is on and what a great season we are having and as we go deeper, it will only get more intense. Soon, we will see the trade market heat up as well, and let us see what happens then. One team that has been amidst trade rumors has been the Utah Jazz and they will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Jazz enter the game after sneaking out a 124:123 against the second-string Golden State Warriors as Simone Fontecchio dunked with around a second to go. Fontecchio had a career-high 18 points night whereas Jordan Clarkson had a team-high 22 points. The Jazz has 15 wins and 12 losses, having three of their last four games but they have lost their way a bit after starting the season with 10 wins and three losses. There is a chance that veteran guard Mike Conley can return here after a lengthy absence. Overall, the Jazz’s defense has struggled quite a bit.

The Timberwolves come into this game after defeating the Pacers 121:115 as D’Angelo Russell had 28 points night. They have won two of the lost three but they have struggled since the absence of Karl Anthony-Towns, losing most of their games. One great development recently has been that D’Angelo Russell has lifted his game after a slow start whereas Anthony Edwards continues to be a top-notch scorer. Wolves haven’t performed as expected after acquiring Rudy Gobert and not having Anthony-Towns has hurt their cause in multiple arenas. 

The Timberwolves have played well lately and will fancy their chances against a rather lax defense of the Jazz. Russell and Edwards have the ability to get it done without Anthony-Towns. On the other hand, the Jazz’s offense has been amazing at home and they have deep guard rotations that help them be effective on multiple ends. Let us see how they respond against the Wolves. The return of Mike Conley(potentially) will lift the Jazz. I predict a scoreline of 122:116 in favor of the Timberwolves here.
