Toronto vs Brooklyn Prediction: the Nets Leaders are Finally Back

This season, all three meetings between Toronto and Brooklyn have ended with wins for the Nets. Will the Raptors turn the tide?

The Raptors are horrible. Nick Nurse's team has failed six of their last eight games. And Toronto mainly didn't cope with the average opponents - Orlando (twice) and Sacramento. Perhaps Toronto's recent slump has something to do with the ominous emotional backdrop - one of the team's leaders, Fred VanVleet, is having trouble with his personal life. The Raptors have already dropped to 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings. 

The Net has improved their momentum in recent games. Jacque Vaughn's team is meeting with Toronto after four wins. Brooklyn took turns beating Charlotte (122-116), Atlanta (120-116), Indiana (136-133), and Washington (112-100). Moreover, the Nets won over Indiana without their key players. That, of course, speaks volumes about the great work of the new coaching staff. Brooklyn reached fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings behind Cleveland, Milwaukee, and Boston. 

Toronto has not been playing to their potential lately - Nick Nurse's team lost twice to Orlando and Sacramento, clubs that, when the Raptors are in good shape, usually beat handily. Brooklyn, on the other hand, has an excellent chance to extend their winning streak. Also, the Nets finally have all of their leaders on the roster. Our money is on Brooklyn, and the TU, as the Raptors and Nets have rarely played each other effectively in recent years.
