After defeating Golden State after four straight losses, Dallas stumbled again. They failed to defeat one of the weakest teams in the Eastern Conference - Detroit Pistons - on the road with the score 125:1131 (117:117) in overtime. Dallas is still very unstable and has already fallen to 11th place in the Western Conference standings with a balance of 10-11.

The Knicks unexpectedly can't find their game on defense at the start of the championship. The team sits just 24th in defensive efficiency, allowing an average of 116.2 points per game. In the matchup against Luka Doncic, this deficiency in New York could play a key role. Dallas isn't always as confident on the court in recent games, though, and they have to compensate for that with productive offensive play.
