Minnesota Timberwolves vs Denver Nuggets Prediction: Will the Nuggets be stronger in their first road game as well?

Denver completed the task of starting the series with Minnesota, beating the Timberwolves twice at home. Will the Nuggets be stronger in their first road game as well? Note that Michael Malone's team lost both road trips to Minneapolis.

The Timberwolves blew the first game of the series with Denver, losing by 29 points, 80:109. But there was an explanation for that - a problematic playoff game in which the team had to play two games. Not surprisingly, therefore, Minnesota looked significantly better in game two in Denver, in particular by outscoring their opponents in the third quarter +17 - 40:23. In the fourth quarter, however, the Nuggets' class suffered, as the Timberwolves trailed -9 and lost their second straight game at Ball Arena, 113:122. It was an unpleasant 0:2 start to the series.

The Nuggets entered the series with Minnesota as clear favorites, as the team proved in the first two games. They got their result, but if Denver wants to contend for the title this season, they must improve. In the first game, the team was far from perfect on offense, although the Nuggets did not have to do much. The third quarter of the second game, however, was alarming. Minnesota found weaknesses in Denver's defense, scoring 40 points in 12 minutes and nearly pulling the game open. Something tells me that things are far from clear in the two games of this series in Minneapolis.

Denver's defense is far from blameless - Minnesota realized that and took advantage of it in Game 2 of the series. In Game 3, Chris Finch's squad will likely try to play their best offensively, or else this meeting cannot be won - defending against a Denver team led by Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray is extremely difficult. So, we're expecting another productive game here, where the Timberwolves might even have a chance to win, especially since the Nuggets are traditionally much less efficient on the road than they are at home.
