Memphis Grizzlies vs Dallas Mavericks Prediction: Memphis back in groove, Mavs need further boost

The NBA Regular Season is in its final parts and this has been another enthralling season. Teams have to keep up with the grueling schedule and the requirements for the top-six Playoffs and the four remaining Play-in spots are going to heat up only further. In this important game, Memphis Grizzlies are going to take on the Dallas Mavericks.

The Grizzlies enter the game after defeating the Warriors 133:119 as Jaren Jackson Jr. scooped up 31 points. The Grizzlies have won five out of their last six matches and in the overall scheme, they have captured 43 wins and 27 losses. They will play seven of their last 12 games at home and it will be interesting to see what results they will fetch by the end of the season. Their season has been hit with multiple shocks, firstly, Ja Morant’s off-court issues have caused his suspension. Memphis’s title chances may have taken a hit but it is too early to say that too. 

The Mavs come into this match after defeating the Lakers 111:110 as Maxi Kleber hit a game-winner. However, the main hero of the game was Kyrie Irving, who attracted major Lakers’ defense as he had scored 38 points by then. The Mavs have won two in a row but in an extended run, they have lost nine out of 14 games. The Mavs have been struggling to get going thus far, winning 36 and losing 35 and they’d need a special run to close out the season. Doncic has struggled in terms of injuries and that has also caused some fluctuations. One major development recently has been the emergence of Christian Wood who can be highly effective at times.

The Grizzlies have been playing some impressive basketball lately after a lax period whereas the Mavs have their injury troubles too. Ja Morant’s suspension has opened up minutes for Tyus Jones who has the tendency to step up when needed. Anyway, I believe the Grizzlies will protect home court here whether Irving and Doncic play. I predict a scoreline of 126;119 in their favor.
