Los Angeles Clippers vs San Antonio Spurs Prediction: The Clippers should win big here

The NBA midseason has gone past us and the next stop is the trade deadline. Thus, a bunch of trades can be incoming as many teams look to shore up their resources. Soon, we will see an intense shuffling around so the team evaluation will need to be updated. This can be the case with the two teams that meet here as the Los Angeles Clippers go up against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Clippers come into the game after defeating 133:115 as Paul George rolled in 27 points to extend the Clippers’ winning streak to three. The Clippers have won five of their last eight games, which helped quell the six-game losing streak. Because of that losing streak, the Clippers have 26 wins and 24 losses, which is a rather slim return for Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.

However, it is important to note that George has missed a bunch of games which is why the campaign derailed in the first place. Their defense has been impressive especially when these two are playing together. Offensively, they have had their struggles considering their experienced players have struggled except for Leonard and George. Will we see someone like Reggie Jackson getting traded?

The Spurs come into this game after losing 104:113 against the Los Angeles Lakers despite a 25 points performance by Keldon Johnson. They have lost three in a row and they have had multiple losing streaks which has led them to 34 losses and 14 wins. This has been an expected return for San Antonio, a team that is full of inexperienced players. And are heading to the lottery.

Due to the lack of experience, they have one of the worst defenses and constantly miss crucial shots. Devin Vassell and Keldon Johnson have provided great offense but the overall machinery is limited for the most part. It will be interesting to see if the Spurs pursue a young talent or hunt for the draft pick around the trade deadline. I believe they do have something to offer.

This has been the type of season where San Antonio is unable to either build leads or cut them. If the duo of George and Kawhi is active the Spurs are likely to fold quickly. That is why I predict a scoreline of 123:104 in favor of the Spurs.
