Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets Prediction: The Warriors are overwhelming favorites

The NBA Regular Season is on and we have witnessed a great variety of action already. The initial parts of the season have seen a lot of topsy-turvy results and as we head deeper, there are going to be a lot of changes in the roster complexion already. In this game, the Golden State Warriors are going to take on the Houston Rockets.

The Warriors enter the game after defeating the Chicago Bulls 119:111 as Jordan Poole notched 30 points. The Warriors have now won four out of their five games and finally, things are clicking for players not named Stephen Curry. Poole is showing signs of recovery after an underwhelming start to the season whereas Klay Thompson has played much better. Wing Andrew Wiggins has been a strong presence on both ends whereas Draymond Green is a looming defensive threat. Kevon Looney is a decent starter but the bench play of the Warriors has been way too underwhelming. 

The Rockets come into this game after a sensational comeback against the Phoenix Suns, winning 122:121 as Jalen Green scooped up 30 points. They have won just six of their 22 games and they have struggled big-time for most parts. The last win was a big one as the team trailed for most parts against an opponent that is among the top teams. Jalen Green is turning out to be one of the best offensive players in the league while Kevin Porter Jr makes for a significant backcourt pairing. Jabari Smith Jr. is primarily a defensive threat and has a long way to go. Alperen Sengun is someone who can light the NBA world on fire in coming years.

The Warriors will come in with an obvious edge here. For all their struggles, they remain a formidable squad at home and their play on both ends here has been a thing of beauty. The Rockets did beat overwhelming odds against the Suns but it will be the most shocking thing in the league, if they repeat those heroics against the Warriors too. I don’t see that happening and I project a big Warriors win with a scoreline of 122:105.
