Dallas Mavericks vs New York Knicks Prediction: Can the Mavericks stand tall against feisty Knicks?

NBA brings to us some of the best action that you’ll ever see and with each day, the competition level is only going to rise further. This has been a promising start and with the midseason knocking at our doorsteps, it will be interesting how some struggling squads approach this window. In this game of the NBA, Dallas Mavericks are going to take on the New York Knicks.

The Mavericks come into this affair after defeating the Lakers 124:115 as MVP candidate Luka Doncic bagged 32 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. The win was the third in a row for the Mavs team which had lost four out of six in the previous window. Overall, their record is nothing impressive for a team that reached the Conference Finals last season, they have won 18 and lost 16 games. The current winning streak was developed against squads that are either struggling or were short-handed so it will be interesting how the Mavs adjust to much better squads. They have struggled away from home but at home, they are a solid team on both ends.

The Knicks’ strange season continued as they lost 112:119 against the Philadelphia 76ers despite a 35 points outburst by their Power Forward Julius Randle. This was the third straight loss at home and why I call this season strange for the Knicks is that they have lost 10 out of 18 games at home, while winning 10 out of 16 away from home, making up for 18 wins and 16 losses record. This is surely not the norm in the league but this much difference in record is expected when the scenario is flipped, not when you are away from it. Julius Randle is having another solid season whereas Jalen Brunson’s addition has worked for most parts. However, the Wing rotations are suspect at times and the team has a highly inconsistent bench, save for Immanuel Quickley.

The Mavs are a tough nut to crack at home but surprisingly, these are the type of scenarios where the Knicks are thriving. Their play has been much more balanced on the road so the Mavs can’t take this squad lightly despite being on a three-game winning streak. If the Knicks contain Doncic, they can end up springing up a surprise here. However, I don’t see the Mavs allowing that surprise. I predict a 116:111 win in favor of Dallas.
