Germany vs Greece Prediction: Equal chances to win

Both teams deserve to be in the semifinals. Giannis showed resilience and faith in himself and the team in round of 16, while Germany clearly saw what difficulties the Czechs have created for the leader of the Greeks and will be ready to create even more problems to the opposing star.

After a solid group stage with the only loss to Slovenia, the hosts had some problems in the round of 16 against Montenegro.

Leading the game quite confidently, after the first half the score was 48 to 24. At some point Germany lost concentration or believed that they had already crushed the opponent and got a serious breakthrough from Kendrick Perry and Bojan Dubljevic who suddenly remembered that he still had a long-range attack in his arsenal.

In the end, only an unsportsmanlike foul by Perry and a technical to the Montenegrin coach for a 3-pointer with 24 seconds left in the fourth quarter left Germany with the win, although there were questions.

The Greeks were the only team not to lose in this tournament. Although at times it seems that Giannis has too much influence on the result, it is safe to say that this team has enough experience and stardom even without its main star.

But, as in all round of 16 matches in this EuroBasket, Giannis was successfully held back for three quarters of four. The rest of the rotation was occasionally cooperative, but the bulk of the play was based on the Greeks' individual talents, while Satoransky handed out a record 17 assists.

Still, in the 4th quarter, the Czech team's strength was abandoned in the face of their opponents' main star and, importantly, the Greek main man's faith in his range worked and he broke his opponents down by hitting two long-range shots in a row.

The confrontations between these teams began as early as 1965. The teams have played a total of 10 matches, the Greeks winning six of them. The last meeting was held in 2009, with the Balkan side victorious.

The Greeks are the odds-on favorite in this match. But the German team has known defeating the favorites, especially at home. Giannis has shown that during the whole game he can look for his chance, and even close guarding is not the most insurmountable obstacle for him, he can find an assist partner easily. Plus, of course, the roster of highly experienced players, who are no strangers to playing in such games, tips the scales in favor of Itoudis's team. Whatever the outcome, we don't believe that Germany will concede much, which is why a home team handicap can be seen as a good betting option. Just as we wouldn't expect a high-scoring game, letting the Greeks run is obviously a bad decision, so we expect a tough game. Here are the options to consider:

• Points Total 153-172 for 2.05.
