Washington Nationals vs Los Angeles Angels Prediction: Nationals are expected to win this opener

Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Angels will square it off at the Nationals Park in an MLB series. This will be the first game of a three-game series. Which team draws the first blood?

The Washington Nationals are coming off a series against the Washington Nationals, which they lost. In that series, the Washington Nationals lost the opener 1-4, and while they won game 2 with a six run, they went on to lose 4-7 and 5-9 in the finale. In the meantime, the Washington Nationals have won two of their recent series, coming against the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers. In other series, they lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres. 

The Los Angeles Angels are coming off consecutive series wins and will look to keep things running. In their first series, this team played the New York Mets, and despite suffering a defeat in the opener, they went on to win 5-4 and 3-2 in the last two matches. However, this team played the New York Yankees in their most recent series, losing the opener 5-2. In the meantime, they stepped up with a 2-8 win to even the series in game two and then won 4-9 in the finale. Heading into this game, the Los Angeles Angels have a 51-64 record, leaving them seated 4th in the American League West Division. 

The Washington Nationals should win this opening game. At the moment, they are not the best side anyone would pick. Yet, the Los Angeles Angels are not the side to trust as they are not completely worth trusting. Expect this one to be close, though, in a game that should end with many points.
