San Diego Padres vs Detroit Tigers Prediction: Expect a close contest

The San Diego Padres started this series with a strong performance, winning 3-0 and 6-5 in the first two games. However, this team also come into this finale as favorites and will have confidence in completing a sweep. However, their prior series to this saw them defeat the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Mets while splitting the series with the St. Louis Cardinals. The San Diego Padres head into this series with an 80-61 record overall, leaving them seated 4th in the National League.

The Detroit Tigers will have to prove themselves in this finale after a poor start to this series. In the opener, this team failed to score a run, and while scoring five in game 2, they ended up losing by one run. In the meantime, the Detroit Tigers have not had many poor performances in recent series as they defeated the Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Angels, Chicago White Sox, and New York Yankees, with their lone defeat coming against the Chicago Cubs. 

I will trust the Detroit Tigers in this finale after a very solid performance in game 2. While they struggled in the opener, the Detroit Tigers showed they can compete, scoring five in game two despite losing. While the San Diego Padres are still expected to be decent in this finale, the Detroit Tigers need this win most, and I am backing them on the road.
