In the previous game, the team scored five runs in the 9th inning against the New York Mets. Washington now has 36-70, the worst record in either conference.

The starting pitcher for Washington in their upcoming game against Philadelphia will be Paolo Espino, who is 0-3 and has a 3.78 ERA in 29 games in this league.

Washington has no tournament goals, so they can experiment with all sorts of things without overthinking the result. The Nationals will be doing that for the rest of the season.
