The first game was won by the San Diego Padres by a score of five runs, and then on Saturday, the San Diego Padres won again to keep their winning streak alive.

In the first game of the series, the Oakland Athletics were only able to muster five hits. Both Brent Rooker and Shea Langeliers hit home runs, and Ryan Noda drove in another run with his contribution. In game two, the Oakland Athletics collected nine hits as a team but were unable to make much headway on the scoreboard. Both Noda and Zack Gelof contributed an RBI to the losing cause.
