The New York Mets have the lead and will come into this game hoping to keep things running. In the opener, they scored 15 runs, the most they have scored in a single game this season, conceding just two in that same game. However, while they settled for a split victory against the Atlanta Braves in the series before this, they will look to take their chances this time. The New York Mets have won their last three series before this, moving them to 5th in the National League. 

The Minnesota Twins have the most job to do in this game after a woeful start to this series. In the opener, this team could only score two runs while conceding as many as 15, showing poor offensive balance and defensive solidity. However, while they secured wins in the series prior to this against the Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies, this team is expected to draw inspiration from them. The Minnesota Twins are 58-47 and are seated 4th in the American League. 

The Mets were at the top of their game in the opener, and we could only expect that level of performance from them again. However, the Minnesota Twins are expected to do better and enter game 2 with more focus. Yet, I believe that the New York Mets will do well to take their chances once again while the Twins improve offensively in this one.
