The series in Milwaukee is the Cardinals' second road trip. Oliver Marmol's team started the tour with Boston, where they failed 2 out of 3 games to Red Sox - 5-6, 11-2, 4-6. Overall, like the Brewers, the Cards are 38-30, first/second in the division and sixth/seventh in the entire conference.

Miles Mikolas will pitch for St. Louis in the first game of the series with Milwaukee, 5-4 and a 2.62 ERA in 13 starts. That includes an 0-8 defeat to the Brewers and a 10-1 win over them.

Milwaukee played against not-so-strongest Cincinnati before their series with St. Louis, so they seem a little more prepared for the first game in the division. In addition, the Cardinals also spent more time and energy on the flight from Boston than the Brewers, who traveled three times less distance from Ohio.
