Cleveland Guardians vs Detroit Tigers Prediction: Guardians to get the job done again

Progressive Field will host the second leg of the quarterfinal encounter between the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers. The Guardians are in the lead in this playoff matchup. Can Tigers give themselves a lifeline?

The Cleveland Guardians started this series on the right track, securing a 7-0 win in the opener. However, they now have to step up again as they continue to fight for a spot in the semifinal. While this team lost consecutive matches prior to that win to the Houston Astros, the Cleveland Guardians have only three wins in their last seven matches, as other games ended in defeats. In that run, the home team lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in two of their three games. 

The Detroit Tigers did not get the start they had wanted in the opener of this series and will have high hopes in this encounter. In game one, the visiting team failed to score a single run, the second time in their last five matches, having lost 0-4 to the Chicago White Sox in a prior encounter. However, this team had two wins in their previous five matches, coming against the Houston Astros in the wild-card games, which ended 1-3 and 2-5. 

I have no doubt about the Guardians in this game, looking at their overall season performance. Also, while the Detroit Tigers have not been consistent in their performances, I feel the road team will struggle in this one, too. Therefore, take the Guardians to win in a game that should end with a few runs.
