Cincinnati Reds vs Chicago White Sox Prediction: Reds to make it two wins in a row

Sunday's Major League Baseball action from Great American Ball Park features a matchup between the Chicago White Sox and the Cincinnati Reds. This will be the last game of a weekend series that consisted of three games. After the White Sox squeaked off a victory in the first game, Cincinnati came back on Saturday and won by two runs to bring things back level. 

In the first game, played on Friday, the Reds had more hits than the Sox did (eight to seven), but they were unable to score after the fifth inning. On Saturday, Cincinnati was able to secure the victory by scoring three runs in the fifth inning of the game. Nick Lodolo, the starting pitcher, went 3.2 innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits and one walk. The Reds have a record of 19-39 over their past 58 games overall and 21-43 over their last 64 games when playing against a right-handed starter. In their previous five games, including game three of a series, Cincinnati had a record of 1-4.

In the game on Friday, the White Sox battled back from a 3-0 deficit to eventually pull out a 5-4 victory against the Cincinnati Reds. In the second game played on Saturday, the Sox threw away a 3-1 lead and ended up losing 5-3. Mike Clevinger, the starting pitcher, was responsible for four runs earned, six hits, one walk, and seven strikeouts over the course of six innings. The Red Sox have a record of 7-19 in their last 26 games played in game three of a series and a record of 14-4 in their last 18 interleague road games. In Chicago's previous 10 games against other leagues, the over is 7-3.

In this matchup, we will be backing the Cincinnati Reds. The home team hasn't had much luck recently, but they've been on a terrific run offensively, so that's a plus. Although we believe that the White Sox have a shot as well, we anticipate a tight race that will go on for a significant number of innings.
