Chicago Cubs vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction: Cardinals are expected to get a better result here

Wrigley Field will host game 3 of an MLB series between the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals. The Cubs are in the lead in this series after a win in their first two games. Will the Cardinals avoid a defeat here?

The Chicago Cubs will look to make it three wins in three after a strong start in this series. In their opener, they secured a 5-4 win and 6-3 in game two. However, they are slightly favored in this game 3, and they have a very good chance of proving a point as they continue to boost their season record. In the meantime, in their prior series to this, the Chicago Cubs lost to the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers but secured a win over the Kansas City Royals. The Chicago Cubs have a 54-58 record this season, leaving them seated 11th in the National League. 

The St. Louis Cardinals have a job to do, having struggled in the first two games. In the opener, St. Louis Cardinals scored four runs and lost, conceding five runs. However, their poor performance extended in game 2, this time, scoring three runs but conceding six. In the meantime, the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Texas Rangers, losing the first game, and then secured 8-1 and 10-1 wins. Heading into this game 3, the St. Louis Cardinals have a 56-54 record, leaving them seated 8th in the National League. 

The Chicago Cubs have been decent in this series, and they will feel confident enough to keep things rolling. However, the St. Louis Cardinals have not been totally poor, and we can expect them to do better here. The Cubs have been good, but I do not see the St. Louis Cardinals struggle in this game three, and a win for them in what should be a close contest.
