Arizona Diamondbacks vs Texas Rangers Prediction: Rangers hopes keep increasing

On Wednesday, the MLB action moves to Chase Field for game three of the World Series, which features a matchup between the Texas Rangers and the Arizona Diamondbacks. The score is 1-1 heading into game three, and both teams will be rooting for a victory today in order to even the series. Let's get down to business and pick the winner of this match. 

In the second game of the series, the Arizona Diamondbacks didn't really get going until the seventh inning, when they powered out seven runs over the last three innings. Each of Emmanuel Rivera, Corbin Carroll, and Ketel Marte contributed two RBI to the team's success. The Arizona Diamondbacks were unable to build any momentum throughout Tuesday's game, despite collecting six hits as a club. The one run was scored by Geraldo Rivera, while the only RBI was recorded by Geraldo Perdomo. On Tuesday, Joe Mantiply will take the mound for the Arizona Diamondbacks as the team's Game 4 starter from the bullpen. In eight playoff games (one start), Mantiply has a 2-0 record with a 4.26 earned run average (ERA). The Arizona Diamondbacks will once again place a significant amount of emphasis on their bullpen. The Arizona Diamondbacks have now suffered defeats in each of their most recent six games played at home against teams from the American League. 

The Texas Rangers were able to complete an impressive comeback and win Game 1 of the World Series by a score of 6-5. They tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. However, things did not go as smoothly for the Texas Rangers in Game 2, as they were defeated by a score of 9-1 in a rout. The Texas Rangers were victorious in Game 3 on Tuesday, scoring all of their runs in the third inning on their way to a total of five hits and a 3-1 victory. Corey Seager hit a two-run home run for the Texas Rangers, while Nathaniel Lowe scored a run, Evan Carter collected two hits, and Marcus Semien scored one run and drove in a run during what was otherwise a very quiet evening for the Rangers' offense. 

Due to the fact that this is a crucial game for the Arizona Diamondbacks at home, I will most likely side with them. Although the conclusion of this one should also be quite close, the heavy dependence on bullpens will make things more complicated than they need to be. The Arizona Diamondbacks got off to a strong start offensively throughout the first two games of this series, as evidenced by the fact that they collected 24 hits and scored 14 runs overall. In the third game of the series, which took place on Tuesday, the Arizona Diamondbacks' batting struggled, and the team didn't generate much production from the top of the order. It was a rather unusual performance for the Diamondbacks during their playoff run in 2023; they had scored four or more runs in each of the previous four games before that. The Arizona Diamondbacks had reason to be optimistic about their pitching staff's performance on Wednesday, with the exception of the disastrous third inning. In a strong outing, the bullpen for the Diamondbacks allowed only one hit, and it appears that they will be responsible for a significant portion of the work in Game 4. Another (relatively) low-scoring matchup is what I'm expecting here, with Arizona's offense showing some signs of life in its own building.
