New England Patriots vs New York Jets Prediction: The two sides have a statement to make

The New England Patriots will eye a win this time following a consecutive run of defeats in their last matches. This team took on the Jacksonville Jaguars the previous time out and lost 32-16 on the road. However, prior encounters to that defeat saw New England Patriots six consecutive matches, coming against New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans. This season, the New England Patriots' lone victory was against the Cincinnati Bengals, a game that ended 10-16, and they will now look to give their all in this fixture.  

The New York Jets suffered a defeat against the Pittsburgh Steelers the previous weekend and will hope for a better result this time. In that encounter, the New York Jets started with a 3-7 win in the first quarter and then struggled in the final three quarters, losing 10-8, 10-0, and 14-0. In the meantime, that defeat was the New York Jets fifth this season, losing to Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, and San Francisco 49ers. However, this season, the visiting team's wins were against the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots, ending 17-24 and 24-3. Heading into this encounter, the New York Jets sit in the 11th spot with a 0.286PCT in the American Football Conference standings. 

The two teams have no desire or competitiveness towards winning this season and need to do better here. This is surely an open game, with the chances for both teams being high. I do not expect the New England Patriots to struggle too much at home. However, the New York Jets come in as favorites on the road, which I do not fancy. Considering how things have ended between these sides, I believe this game could be offensive this time, given how weak their defenses have been. I will take the Patriots to win at home, an encounter where the Jets will score many points.
