SoFi Stadium
30.10.2022, 23:25
On Sunday at SoFi Stadium, the Rams (3-3) will play host to the 49ers (3-4), with both teams looking to gain ground on the NFC West-leading Seahawks (4-3). The last time these two teams met was before star running back Christian McCaffrey was traded to the 49ers for a plethora of draft picks, thus, this will be the first time they face each other. Neither team has had a particularly successful first half, but the Rams have had it rougher than everyone else. After their 24-9 loss to the Niners earlier this month, Los Angeles is currently a +1.5 home underdog. The defending champions are underdogs for the third time this season, and it's the second time they've been underdogs at home. The Rams won by 10 points at home against the Panthers in Week 6, but it's easier to stop P.J. Walker and the Panthers' offense than to stop Kyle Shanahan, Jimmy Garoppolo, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk and their CMC. After losing to AFC powerhouse and Super Bowl favorite Buffalo to start the 2022 NFL season, the Rams have only gone 2–4 against the spread. Los Angeles's weaknesses are becoming clear after several players left in the offseason, and Matthew Stafford looked like a shadow of himself in 2021.
San Francisco 49ers - 49ers not in good form
San Francisco started the 2022 season with an 11-10 loss to the Bears, a win over the Seahawks, while they lost to the Broncos. Before losing 28-14 to the Falcons, the 49ers won two straight games against the Rams and the Panthers. At halftime of the game against the Chiefs last weekend, San Francisco was behind by 14-13. The 49ers lost 44-23 because they were behind by 30 points in the second half. Jimmy Garoppolo, the quarterback, threw for 303 yards, two touchdowns, and a pick. George Kittle caught a pass for 98 yards and scored a touchdown. The 49ers have covered the spread in four straight games against the NFC West and eight of their last ten games against the NFC. After losing a game against the spread, San Francisco has won six of its last eight games.

Two teams seem to be depicted here: one that has long since passed its top level and another that is ready to be taken to a new level of offensive domination. Like the Rams did last year when they signed Stafford, edge rusher Von Miller, and star receiver Odell Beckham Jr., the Niners are going "all-in" to sign McCaffrey. This may be the season in which Kyle Shanahan, Jimmy G., and the rest of the Niners will break through. The Niners will be tough to bet against in the playoffs if all of their key players are healthy. Right now, they're invincible and can't be bet against in Los Angeles this weekend. San Francisco will triumph in the trenches, while McCaffrey, Samuel, Kittle, and Aiyuk will provide plenty of icing. The Niners are expected to win and cover the spread handily, and the Overs at Over 42.5.
