Opening Round Shockers; Will Drama Steal the Show?: Accumulator Tip for August 12

For Monday's accumulator tip, we're focusing on three intriguing games from various leagues across Europe. Rizespor will welcome Istanbul Basaksehir to the Çaykur Didi Stadyumu in the first round of the Turkish Super Lig. Frosinone, aiming to maintain their strong form against Pisa, will be seeking a comfortable win in front of their fans in the first round of the Coppa Italia, while Luton Town, who have lost four consecutive home matches against Burnley, will be hoping for a strong start in the Championship. 

Frosinone endured a difficult campaign in the Serie A last season, which ultimately resulted in them being relegated to the second tier after finishing 18th with 35 points. This led to the departure of Eusebio Di Francesco while appointing Vincenzo Vivarini for the current season. 

Pisa, too, is a side that endured a difficult campaign in Serie B last season. They finished in 13th place with 46 points and were one point shy of a mid-table finish. Their most recent match was against Serie A champions Inter Milan in a preseason friendly, and they managed to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Frosinone is a favorite with bookmakers to advance to the next round of the Coppa Italia. They have won four of their last six encounters against Pisa, and we anticipate them to secure a comfortable victory at home by supporting them in the full-time market.

Rizespor had a decent campaign in the Turkish Super Lig last season, having just secured promotion to the top flight. They finished in 9th place with 50 points and needed only six points to secure their participation in European championships. They come into this match on the back of a 2-2 draw against Nice.

After a fifth-place finish in the 2022–23 season, ultimately missing out on European qualification, Istanbul Basaksehir managed to compensate for that poor finish in the previous season by settling for a fourth-place finish to book their spot in the Europa League qualifiers. So far, they have won three competitive games on the bounce and come into this match having defeated Iberia 1999 1-0 away from home.

Rizespor had a solid run at home in the previous season and were ranked the third-best team, having won 11 of their last 19 matches.

Luton Town will be hoping for a strong start in the championship as they aim for promotion to the top flight in their first attempt. In the previous Premier League campaign, which was their first appearance in 31 years, the Hatters found themselves settling for an 18th-place finish and were one of the three teams to suffer relegation. They were just six points adrift of safety. 

Burnley is one of those three teams that were relegated from the top flight to the second tier in the previous season. They finished in 19th place with 24 points and were eight points adrift of safety. This was followed by head coach Vincent Kompany's exit to Bayern Munich, paving the way for Scott Parker. 

Burnley have been at their best at Kenilworth Road, winning their last four games, and will want to build up on this momentum to kick off their championship campaign with a convincing victory. However, their struggles in preseason games suggest that this won't be an easy feat to achieve. Considering that both sides have scored in five of their last eight encounters, we anticipate the same trend to continue here.
