Tunisian Ons Jabeur and Spanish Paula Badosa won their matches to set up a clash between them in the Semi-Finals of the WTA BNP Paribas Indian Wells Open.
Ons took care of business against Anett Kontaveit after a grueling first set. She beat the Estonian 7-5, 6-3. While the service points remained tied at 38 each, Jabeur had a distinct advantage in receiving points, which she claimed 37-24. The Tunisian won five of eleven break points while Kontaveit won two out of four break points. Earlier, Jabeur beat Anastasija Sevastovav, Danielle Collins, and Anna Kalinskaya to reach this stage.
Paula Badosa eked out a fighting win versus German Angelique Kerber. She won the game 6-4, 7-5 but the German didn’t go out without showing guts. Both the players grabbed hold of 29 receiving points but Paula showed a strong service game, leading Kerber 39-31 in that department. Paula won a stunning five out of six break points while Angelique had three out of five. Earlier, Badosa beat Dayana Yastremska, Coco Gauff, and Barbora Krejcikova to reach this stage.
