Tottenham prevailed over Manchester City two-one in an incredible come-from-behind. Tottenham trailed by one-nil after the end of the first half but a strong second-half performance lifted Tottenham in what turned out to be a controversial finish. Tottenham has now grabbed two wins in two games while City has split their first two.

Manchester City struck early as Lauren Hemp found an easy header to insert after receiving a ball from Alex Greenwood from the corner. Tottenham couldn’t make an incision in the first half and City looked confident. Then sixteen minutes into the second half, Chioma Ubogagu crossed one up and Rachel Williams low strike tied the game. The controversy came into play at the eighty-six-minute mark when Angela Addison curled one in and Tottenham’s Rosella Ayan’s clear handball deflected off Benameur resulting in an own goal. The second goal left an unpleasant mark on City as it should have never been awarded in the first place.
