07:00 PM ET: Indiana Fever vs Atlanta Dream: This is a battle between two teams whose Playoffs hopes seem to have long gone. Both teams have struggled as season long and have two of the worst records in the league. Dream has dealt with a ton of injuries and Chennedy Carter’s suspension means that their season is done. Meanwhile Fever has lacked depth all season long and only the guard pairing of Kelsey and Tiffany Mitchell has been able to scoop up some consistent offense for them. Defensively, Fever has the worst rating of 109.4 while Atlanta has the second worst rating of 106.5.
These two teams sit at the bottom of many offensive and defensive metrics. It doesn’t mean that they don’t have talent, Dream has an electric scorer in Courtney Williams, who is averaging 16.7 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 4.2 while Kelsey has averaged 17.0 PPG for the Fever. The Dream play at the fourth quickest pace in the league and Courtney likes to carve up pull-jumpers early in transition while Tiffany Hayes enjoys fastbreak situations so Fever will need to shut down the early offense. The Fever can run an effective pick-and-roll offense with Teaira McCowan combining with either of the Mitchell pair but there is an inconsistency there. All said and done, this is still an exciting match-up considering these two are professional teams and have a wealth of talent despite struggles.
