The F55 category comprises athletes who can only use the portions above their trunk while the limbs are immobile. Brazil’s Wallace Santos won the gold medal in the Tokyo Paralympics in the men’s shot put F55. The Silver medal went to Bulgaria’s Ruzhdi Ruzhdi won the silver medal while the bronze went to Poland’s Lech Stoltman.
Santos covered the 12.63 mark which is a world record, breaking the 12.47 mark set by Ruzhdi in 2017. Ruzhdi covered the distance till the 12.23 mark while Stoltman recorded his season best at 12.15.
