Former world number one, 22-time winner of Grand Slam tournaments, Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal talked about the progress of his recovery from a hip injury.
Recall, the 37-year-old Spaniard is recovering from hip surgery after an injury he suffered at the Australian Open in January 2023. Then he sensationally lost to American Mackenzie McDonald, ranked 65th in the ATP ranking, in three sets (4:6, 4:6, 5:7) and dropped out of the tournament.
Marca quotes Nadal as saying:
I'm not training without pain. I'm in less pain than I used to be, but I'm still in pain. However, this pain allows me to do more and more things eventually. Things would be different if I had zero pain. I could give you a date for my return if I had zero pain because I would have time to prepare myself for that.
Earlier, the Spanish tennis player expressed his desire to become president of Real Madrid.
