Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov defeated American Maxime Cressy in the first round of the tennis tournament in Astana.
The meeting ended with a victory of a Russian in two sets with the score 6:4, 7:6 (7:3). The two players remained on the court for one hour and 31 minutes.
Khachanov served seven aces, made three double faults and won one break point out of two. His opponent had nine aces, seven double faults and missed his only break point.
Khachanov will play in the second round against the winner of the match between Croatian Marin Cilic and German Oscar Otte.
