Jack Draper attributed his vomiting during the US Open semi-final against Jannik Sinner to the intense humidity, the match's physical demands, and his anxiety.
It was a very physical match, Jannik is No1 player in the world - when you play the top players, the intensity is different, it's a step up. I'm quite an anxious human being. I think when you add all that together sometimes I do feel a bit of nausea on court, and I do feel a little bit sick when it gets tough. I've got quite a strong mentality and I use up a lot of mental energy a lot of the time because I want it so badly.
Despite vomiting three times and facing dehydration, Draper pushed through the challenges. He emphasized that he never considered pulling out of the match.
Draper's performance marked his first Grand Slam semi-final. Draper lost the match 7-5, 7-6, 6-2.
