Former world number one Simona Halep has been suspended on suspicion of doping.
According to the website of the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) the Romanian tennis player tested positive for the drug Roxadustat, which is prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
It is reported that being suspended, Halep is prohibited from attending any tennis events organized by the governing bodies of the sport.
We recall that at the end of 2009, the 19-year-old decided to undergo breast reduction surgery. Then she admitted: "My breasts make it uncomfortable to play - their weight prevents me from responding quickly.
At the moment Halep occupies the ninth position in the world ranking of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). The Romanian has won two Grand Slam tournaments - Roland Garros 2018 and Wimbledon 2019.
