The winner of 21 Grand Slam titles, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic commented on the decision of Russian Daniil Medvedev to withdraw after the second set of the semifinal match of the tournament in Astana (Kazakhstan).
"I'm surprised he couldn't finish the match. He looked completely fine. Maybe in the last six draws he was a little slower. Daniil told me he pulled his adductor muscle. I hope it's not too serious. He was better than me in both sets," Djokovic said after the match.
The Russian won the first set 6-4, the second set ended in favor of Djokovic with a score of 7-6 (8-6). Medvedev refused to play further, saying he was injured. In the final of the tournament, Djokovic will play against Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas.
