World No. 2 and Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has shared his thoughts on the acquittal in the doping case involving current world No. 1, Italian Jannick Sinner.

Djokovic said in a statement to the US Open media:

I understand the frustration of the players is there because of lack of consistency. There is a lot of issues in the system. We see lack of standardized and clear protocols. I can understand the sentiments of a lot of players that are questioning whether they are treated the same.

On August 20, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) reported that Sinner had two positive doping tests in March of this year, yet he managed to avoid a lengthy suspension. The investigation revealed that the substance entered the player's system due to a gloveless massage performed by his personal physiotherapist, which led to contamination of the doping samples.

Currently, Sinner is the world No. 1 in men's singles, with one Grand Slam title to his name, 16 victories on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) tour, and one win in the Davis Cup.
