ATP world number three Carlos Alcaraz of Spain has set a unique achievement by becoming the fifth tennis player to beat Serbian Novak Djokovic in a Grand Slam final without losing a set.
On July 12, the 21-year-old Spaniard became a two-time Wimbledon winner by beating the 37-year-old "Nole" 6:2, 6:2, 7:6 (7:4) in the final of the 2024 tournament. The duration of the meeting was two hours and 26 minutes. Thus, for Alcaraz this victory at a Grand Slam tournament became the fourth in his career: in addition to two victories in Great Britain, he celebrated success at the U.S. Open-2022 and the French Open-2024.
In addition to Alcaraz, Djokovic has been beaten 3-0 in TBS finals by Roger Federer of Switzerland (US Open-2007), Andy Murray of Great Britain (Wimbledon-2013), Rafael Nadal of Spain (Roland Garros-2020) and Daniil Medvedev of Russia (US Open-2021).
