08:40 AM UTC: India vs Australia, First T20
A feisty Indian squad will square off against Australia in the first T20 at Carrara in the multi-format series. Australia enters with a 6-4 points lead and won two out of three ODis while the One-off Test ended in a draw. The points tally easily could have been reversed if Jhulan didn’t bowl a last delivery no-ball in the second ODI.
The squads last played in the 2020 Women’s T20 Final in which Australia beat India decisively. However, the team is missing key players in Megan Schutt and Jess Jonassen from that time. India’s T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur will make her return to the squad after missing out on the ODIS and the solitary test match because of an injury. Can India turn the tables and win the tour by securing a win in the last three remaining fixtures or will the hosts hold them out?
