The first T20 match between India and Australian women got abandoned after India put up 131 for 4 wickets runs off 15.2 Overs. India would feel unlucky because when the rain arrived the team solidified the position. Jemimah Rodrigues took control of the game arriving at number three and bagged 49 runs in 36 deliveries before rain intervened.
India lost the first wicket at the score of 31 runs when Smriti Mandhana made 17 runs and skied one to Darlington. Then Shefali Verma got out when India made 37 when she gave away a catch at midwicket. Then Harmanpreet Kaur upped the tempo hitting three fours in a row but Molineux had her trapped LBW just on the next delivery. Yastika Bhatia fell when the score read 106 when Wareham had her caught.
Richa Ghosh looked sublime yet again, hitting three boundaries before the rain had its say. India did a superb job of maintaining the tempo and would be a touch disappointed because Jemimah and Ghosh looked ominous. The points tally stands at 7-5 in favour of Australia.
