Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva has stated that she never knowingly took any banned substances. She claims to have never violated anti-doping rules.
In an interview with NHK Valieva said:
For my part, I can say that I did not take doping consciously. We take RUSADA courses [Российского антидопингового агентства], I tried to follow the rules as much as possible. Because I was going to the Olympic Games and thought that this would be a wonderful sports festival. That this is the place for which you have worked for so long, you have dreamed for so long. And you came and, unfortunately, received different emotions and a different attitude.
Recall that during the 2024 Olympics, doping was found in the skater's body. Two years later, CAS found the athlete guilty of violating WADA rules and disqualified her for four years. Valieva was also stripped of all awards received after December 25, 2021.
At the end of February, the Swiss Federal Supreme Court registered the Russian's appeal.
