Esports organization Cloud9 is set to sign part of the squad from Gaimin Gladiators for their Dota 2 team.
As reported by Telecomasia.net, Cloud9 will not be acquiring the entire Gaimin Gladiators roster. Instead, Quinn “Quinn” Callahan and Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard will be joining Cloud9’s new team. The names of the other three team members are still unknown.
Interestingly, Ace has already been seen wearing a Cloud9 jersey during a livestream by his partner on social media. Previously, Gaimin Gladiators had posted a joke with an announcement about Hoelgaard’s departure to another team.
Gaimin Gladiators’ current roster includes:
- Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov;
- Quinn “Quinn” Callahan;
- Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard;
- Erik “tOfu” Engel;
- Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp
The current Gaimin Gladiators lineup was formed in 2022. Since then, the team has won the Riyadh Masters 2024, BetBoom Dacha 2023, Bali Major 2023, DreamLeague Season 20, ESL One Berlin Major 2023, DreamLeague Season 19, Lima Major 2023, BetBoom Xmas Show, and placed second twice at The International in 2023 and 2024.
Previously, Telecomasia.net reported that professional Dota 2 player Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov might miss part of the new season. The esports player has already been registered for a media poker tournament scheduled to take place from October 4 to 6, 2024.
