Russian figure skater Roman Kostomarov showed a video in which he went on the ice for the first time after the installation of prosthetic limbs.
The athlete posted the video of his workout оn his Telegram channel.
In January 2023, 46-year-old Kostomarov was hospitalized with symptoms of unilateral pneumonia and influenza, and then was put into a medicated coma and connected to life-support devices. The development of necrosis and sepsis led to the amputation of the figure skater's both feet and several fingers on his hands. In June Kostomarov was discharged from the hospital and is currently recovering.
In an interview with Match TV, Kostomarov said that he did not set himself a strict deadline for returning to the ice. On December 2, Kostomarov gave a lecture at the Russia International Exhibition and Forum, where he addressed children who also wear prosthetic limbs and urged them not to give up in this difficult situation.
