Russian chess player Ian Nepomniachtchi lost to China's Ding Liren in the decisive tie-break of the match for the world chess crown, which ended April 30.
The match winner was decided in the fourth game of the tie-break which ended in Astana. Nepomniachtchi, who had been playing with white pieces, conceded defeat on move 68.
Thanks to this, Liren won the tie-break with a score of 2.5:1.5 and became the 17th world champion. Earlier, the chess players could not determine the winner in the "classic" game, which ended with a total score of 7-7.
