Le Parisien newspaper reported that ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Olympic rings will be installed on the most recognizable landmark of the French capital, the Eiffel Tower.
Traditionally, five massive rings are placed in a significant location of the host city before every Olympic Games as a symbolic gesture.
The Olympic symbol will be positioned between the first and second levels of the tower at a height of approximately 60 meters. In addition, a beach volleyball tournament will take place at the base of the tower on the Champ de Mars, with a fan zone organized at the Trocadero Square in front of the landmark.
On April 8, environmentalists expressed concern about the deteriorating water quality in the Seine, where swimming and triathlon competitions will be held.
Earlier, on March 29, the Europe 1 channel reported about the high probability of canceling the opening ceremony of the Games due to the recent terrorist attack in the concert complex "Crocus City Hall" in Russia.
