The International Olympic Committee (IOC) took to social media to explain the meaning behind the most talked-about scene during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The organization's press service posted the following message on its social media:

The scene featuring an actor painted blue, lying on a table surrounded by prop food and flowers became the most discussed moment after the opening ceremony.
It's worth noting that the main part of the opening ceremony took place along the banks of the Seine River. The Olympic flag was raised on a flagpole near the Eiffel Tower, and the Olympic flame was lit on a balloon that then soared high above Paris.
The Olympics in the French capital will run from July 26 to August 11, with a total of 10,500 participants from 206 national teams expected to compete.
Earlier, IOC representative Mark Adams commented on the incident involving an upside-down Olympic flag during the opening ceremony in Paris.
Moreover, Italy's far right Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini referred to the event on the Seine as "a disgrace."
