Five new sports are included in the program of the Olympic Games 2028 in Los Angeles. These are squash, flag football, lacrosse, cricket and baseball.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) press office said that these sports are part of American sports culture.
These are not the only changes the organization plans to make in the near future. IOC President Thomas Bach has officially announced that there could be Olympic cyber sports in the future.
Bach, 69, has been the head of the IOC since 2013. In 2021, he was re-elected for a third four-year term, which, according to the current statutes, should be his last. However, it became known that the IOC members are going to change the Olympic Charter to re-elect Bach for a fourth term.
