Greece’s Maria Sakakri beat Czech player Tereza Martincova 7-5, 6-3 to move to the Semi-Finals of the Ostrava Open. Sakkari’s aggressive style and her powerful strokes enabled her to overwhelm Tereza, giving her a thirty-one to twelve edge in the receiving points. Tereza did win 44 service points compared to 37 by Sakkari but Maria turned it on during rallies. This is now Sakkari’s sixth Semi-Finals during the year.
At the time of writing the news, Polish Iga Swiatek leads Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina 3-1 in the first set. Later, Jil Teichmann will face Petra Kvitova while Anett Kontaveit will go up against Belinda Bencic.
