Nepal claimed two wickets against Papua New Guinea in the first ODI contest. Papua New Guinea folded for 134 batting first and left 17 overs to play. Nepal took down the target in a space of 39.3 Overs but lost eight wickets in a process in a low-scoring affair at Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Oman.
Papua New Guinea won the toss and elected to bat first. P.N.G lost two wickets for just 9 runs after a fifty runs partnership between Charles Amini and Legi Siaka. Charles and Legi fell at the score of 59 as Kushal Malla and Sandeep Lamichhane claimed the wickets. Papua New Guinea folded for 134 as Sandeep ended up with four wickets. Nepal started well and lost the first wicket at 46 and seven wickets fell at 82 before Rohit Paudel and Sompal Kami put on a 52 runs partnership and P.N.G got the eight-wicket too late at 134. Rohit Paudel topped all scorers with 41 runs.
