UFC president Dana White has spoken out about the future of former middleweight champion Alex Pereira, who previously announced his move to light heavyweight.
In order to be among the contenders for the light heavyweight title, he needs to beat somebody. He has to move up to the light heavyweight division and beat a real top fighter. We're working on that right now

Pereira, 35, last fought April 9 in the main event of UFC 287. Then he faced Israel Adesanya for the second time. Alex lost that fight by TKO in the second round and lost his UFC middleweight title. He has seven wins and two losses under his belt.
