Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman of the United States shared his expectations for his return to the Octagon after a two-year break.
I want to put on a complete dominating performance in my upcoming fight, and then in November I want to fight again in New York. And just climb up the rankings, earn my way back to a title fight. I love the champion, Israel Adesanya. That’s the goal, is to get there and to get a fight with him.
Recall that on August 19, Chris Weidman will face Brad Tavares at UFC 292 in Boston, USA.
In his last fight, held in April 2021, at UFC 261, Weidman lost by TKO in the first round to Uriah Hall. Weidman, 38, has 15 wins and six losses under his belt.
Tavares, 35, last competed at UFC Fight Night 222 in April 2023, when he lost by TKO in the first round to Bruno Silva. He has 19 wins and eight losses under his belt.
