Taras Kiyashko, the coach of Alexander Volkov, spoke exclusively with Telecomasia.net about the potential rematch with Cyril Gane, stating that the likelihood of it happening is 50-50, depending largely on the French heavyweight.
The chances that Volkov's next opponent is Gane are 50-50. It probably depends on whether he wants to wait or not. Regardless, we are ready to fight anyone they give us. I think Gane believes that Alexander would be a good matchup for him, plus he has experience fighting him. But who knows? The UFC might also have other plans. Alexander would be ready to face Gane in Abu Dhabi if it weren’t for his injury. If it’s Blaydes, it’s alright.

Volkov and Gane were originally scheduled to have their rematch at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi. In June 2021, Volkov lost to Gane by unanimous decision.
The Russian heavyweight disclosed on September 24 that he suffered torn ligaments in his knee, affecting his training camp.
