Top Russian UFC heavyweight division fighter Alexander Volkov shared his future plans after defeating compatriot Sergei Pavlovich.
On the night of 23 June at UFC on ABC 6, Volkov won by unanimous decision. In a post-fight interview, the Russian said he is ready to face heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
Volkov said at a press conference:
I would like to fight for the belt, but being a UFC employee, I will have to rely on their opinion rather than my own wishes. I'm interested in any fight that will appeal to the audience first and foremost. I'm interested in good loud fights. If the BMF (Baddest Motherf***er) heavyweight belt comes up, that would be awesome. I'd fight anybody for it. I can fight Derrick Lewis and someone else on the same night.
Volkov, 35, previously stepped into the octagon in September 2023 at UFC 293, defeating Tai Tuivasa via second-round choke. He has 38 wins and ten losses on his record.
Pavlovich, 32, last fought at UFC 295 in November 2023, losing to Tom Aspinall by first-round knockout. He has 18 wins and three losses on his record.
