UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski spoke in an interview about the upcoming title fight between Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira, which will take place on October 22 at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi.
"It's going to be a very interesting, great fight. I can't wait, I really want to see it. They both look healthy, they both seem to be uninjured. I think they'll come out and put on a real show!" - Volkanovski said.
Volkanovski also revealed when he plans to make his UFC lightweight division debut fight.
"When do I plan to make my lightweight debut? I think it will be early next year. If Islam and Charles are okay, then early next year," the Australian fighter added.
Oliveira defeated American Justin Gathje by choke in his last fight at UFC 274 this May. We must recall that before the tournament, Charles was stripped of his title due to a failed weigh-in. He has 33 wins and eight defeats under his belt.
Makhachev beat the U.S. representative Bobby Green by TKO in the first round at UFC Vegas 49, which took place in February of this year. Islam has 22 wins and one defeat under his belt.
